Sakurai USA was in the planning stages of their September attendance at PRINT 17 when they contacted us. They had a booth space and that was about it.
So, as their design firm of record for nearly 20 years, and in concert with marketing and public relation stalwart, Larry Zar at Zar Marketing (www.zarmarketing.com), we did what we do. Maybe, we did a little more than we usually do.
We created a theme for the show. "Don't print ordinary" representing the degree of creativity the Sakurai Cylinder Screen Presses can achieve with specialty coatings, metallics, dimensional finishes and wide variety of substrates.
The theme was implemented throughout the booth, of course, but also on the show-specific website we launched a month before the show. In fact, the site is still up, converted to an homage and recap to Sakurai's success at PRINT 17. www.sakurai-print17.com
We also created a brochure, pre-show emailer; show daily ads and more. All of the materials produced pushed potential clients to register for show, check show schedules, visit the Sakurai show site, etc. It was a 360º saturation.
The next show up is SGIA in New Orleans this month. Stay tuned for a post about that.
